About

Hello, I'm Neil

I'm an independent AI consultant. I help small UK businesses hand their admin to AI and automation, so the owners get their evenings back.

Why FTW Digital

The person on the call is the person who builds it.

I work with small UK businesses, from sole traders to teams of 50. We’ll start with what’s taking up your time, then work out whether automation would actually help.

If a simpler fix will do, I’ll say so. If we build something, I’ll test it with you, show you how to use it and leave clear instructions. Your accounts and documentation stay with you, so someone else can take over if you need them to.

What I do, and why

FTW Digital is me, Neil Dawson, running an independent AI consultancy for small UK businesses. I build automations and AI tools using platforms like n8n, Make and Zapier, and AI from Claude and OpenAI.

Small businesses can end up with too many tools that each do half a job, and somebody copying information between them at six in the evening.

So that is what I fix. I look at what is being done by hand, work out what a workflow or AI can reliably take over, build it, and hand it back to you with plain instructions.

How I work

One person, start to finish

The person you speak to is the person who builds it. No account managers, no hand-offs.

Small, useful steps

Start with the one job that wastes the most time, prove it works, then decide what is next.

Plain English

No jargon and no hard sell. If something is not worth automating, I will say so.

You own it

Documented, handed over and in your name, with support only if you want it.

What I won't do

Sell you something you don't need

If a job is not worth automating, or a cheaper fix exists, I will tell you.

Lock you in

Everything runs in accounts in your name, with documentation. You can take it elsewhere at any time.

Hide behind jargon

You will always know what was built, what it costs to run and what to do if something changes.

Let AI loose on your customers

It works within rules you agree, and anything unusual comes to you first.

A few practical questions

What if it stops working, or you are not around?

Everything is documented and set up in your accounts, so another developer could pick it up. Support customers get fixes as part of the monthly fee.

Where are you based?

In the UK. I work remotely with businesses anywhere in the country, by video call and phone.

What size of business do you work with?

Mostly owner-run businesses with between one and twenty people. If the admin lands on a few busy people, it is a good fit.

What’s the one job you’d
like off your list?

Tell me on a free 20-minute call. We’ll look at how you do it now, what could change and whether it’s worth doing.

No preparation, no pressure. You’ll speak directly to Neil.
