Private AI

AI that keeps your data private

Use AI on client files, contracts and financials without pasting them into public chatbots. It is self-hosted AI, running on UK-hosted or your own servers, under your control.

In short

An assistant that answers questions from your own documents, with sources, running on UK-hosted or your own servers. Your files are not used to train public AI models.

Works with

  • Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
  • Google Drive
  • Your file server
  • UK hosting
  • Your own hardware

What it takes off your plate

Ask your own documents

Ask a question and get an answer drawn from your policies, contracts or past work, with links to the documents it used.

Hosted in the UK, or on your kit

The AI runs on UK-based servers or on hardware in your office, so sensitive files never pass through a public chatbot.

You control access

People only see answers from documents they are allowed to open, and you can see what was asked.

Yours to keep

You own the set-up and the instructions to run it. Nothing is locked to me or to one AI company.

An example. Illustrative, not a client result.

Example project

A high-street law firm doing conveyancing and wills

Before

Evening and weekend enquiries waited until Monday, by which time many had already instructed another firm. Fee questions took up a lot of phone time.

What could be built

  • Out-of-hours enquiries get a prompt reply with the fee guide and a link to book a call
  • Intake questionnaires are sent, chased and filed against the new matter
  • Conflict checks are flagged for a person to do before anything goes further
  • A private, UK-hosted assistant that searches the firm's own precedents and guides

Could save

About 5 hours a week

Could answer enquiries in minutes instead of days, and save around 5 hours a week of admin.

Example cost

£4,500 to build, then £145 a month

Time to build

6 weeks

How it works

Step 1

We decide what it can see

Which documents, which people, and what stays off limits.

Step 2

I set it up privately

On UK hosting or your own hardware, tested on real questions.

Step 3

Your team starts using it

With a short guide and a check-in after the first few weeks.

What I'll need from you

To get started

  • The documents it should learn from, and any it must never see
  • Who in the team should be able to use it
  • A list of real questions people ask now
  • Whether you want it UK-hosted or on hardware in your office

Don't worry if you don't have all of this. We work it out together on the first call.

What it could cost

A private assistant usually costs £3,000 to £6,000 to build, plus hosting from around £40 a month, or a one-off hardware cost if it runs in your office.

You get a fixed price before anything starts, and you pay any software subscriptions directly.

Questions people ask

Does this help with GDPR?

Keeping personal data in the UK and under your control makes things simpler. I document where data goes so you can update your records, but it is not legal advice.

Is it as good as ChatGPT?

For everyday work on your own documents, such as summarising, drafting and finding answers, modern private models do very well. I will tell you honestly if a task needs something bigger.

What hardware do I need?

None, if it is UK-hosted. If you want it in your office, I will recommend a machine that suits how many people will use it.

Who can see what we ask it?

Only the people you choose. Questions and answers stay on your set-up, not with a public AI company.

Is it GDPR compliant?

It is built with UK GDPR in mind: your data stays in the UK or on your own kit, access is limited to the people who need it, and nothing is used to train public AI. You stay the data controller, and I can sign a data processing agreement.

What happens if something breaks?

With support, I fix it, usually the same working day. Without support, you have the instructions, and I can fix it at a fixed price.

Do I own what you build?

Yes. It runs in accounts in your name, and you get the documentation. You are never locked in to me.

What’s the one job you’d
like off your list?

Tell me on a free 20-minute call. We’ll look at how you do it now, what could change and whether it’s worth doing.

No preparation, no pressure. You’ll speak directly to Neil.
